Genre: Mage: the Awakening
Born into a world rife with science and often devoid of wonder, some shrug off the curse of the modern mortal man. Some open their eyes and see the world beyond, within, and pervading the mundane. Some taste the power around them. Some desire it. Some cannot live without it. Some seek wisdom. Some seek meaning. These are the Awakened. They are drawn from the lives that were all they knew by a restlessness...a knowledge deeper than knowing.

Place/Time:
2nd and 4th Friday, 8pm-12am or whenever the ST's and players drop from exhaustion. UCF campus in the Breezeway.

Theme:
Mage is a game of power, strife, struggle, emotion, and self discovery. Each player is encouraged to explore all facets of their character. The cerebral, the social, the survival, and the enlightenment are all prevalent themes of Awakening. Hard questions without answers must be asked. Life must be engaged to its fullest. In the end, is there a winner?

Proxy rules:
All proxies must be approved in advance. All proxies must follow the guidelines in the Camarilla addenda. "Soft" proxies are not permitted. All characters placed in proxy must have complete instructions. Characters may be killed, maimed, or derailed in proxy. The player accepts this when they assign the proxy.

Setting Location:
City of Orlando, Orange, Osceola, Seminole counties

The Plots:

Opening Plot:

Within the boundaries of Orlando, there once lived a very powerful Mage. His library was built on a convergence of three great ley lines, and for many years he lived in complete control of all around him. Young mages came and went without putting a damper on his grasp of power.

Then he was gone. The wards and failsafes he had put in place began to erode, and the young Awakened began to return to the area. With them came those who would teach them or use them depending upon one's point of view.

Somewhere within the boundaries of the City the library remains, hidden still by the greatest of the Master's workings. Many want it, more want the power that he fed into it. Who will find it?

Others:
Local, Regional, National, and Global plotlines will be included as they apply to the area. Cross venue plots may occur if the situation within the City warrants it. Further notations of plotlines will be included and this style sheet will be updated regularly to include them.

Antagonists:
Antagonists include all supernatural and mundane types listed in approved material. The most common conflicts are likely to be with other PC's, but there will be others living in the world with the PC's and not all of them have a Mage's best interests at heart.

PC Concepts:
All characters should be HUMANS first. If the human that becomes the Mage is not apparent in the character, the character will not be approved.

Entering the Game:
All players are required to have a current copy of their character sheet with xp log, background, and all approval numbers required for every item on their character sheet. Anything lacking a proper approval number will be disallowed.

It is a good idea for travellers to send their character sheets in advance, but this is only a suggestion not a requirement. The VST reserves the right to refuse any character into play that is an imbalancing or disruptive influence on the game as a whole. ALL item cards must be approved by the VST EVERY time they are brought into the game.

ST Notes:
Narrator decisions may be appealed to the VST or AVST. The AVST's call may be appealed to the VST. Review by the DST will be allowed only with written complaint. All ST's will make every effort to accommodate all players and be fair in their rulings, but excessive arguments over mechanics are contrary to providing a fluid roleplaying environment and will not be welcomed.

Situational modifiers will be determined by the ST running the scene. Players may request that a situational modifier be applied, but this is not a guarantee that one will be.

All local character sheets will be kept in a character file on site. These character sheets will be considered the final copy in the event of a dispute.

XP award guidelines:
Every player will receive one xp for showing up. Additional xp will be awarded for timeliness, exceptional roleplay, pageantry and costuming, and furthering plotlines.

All xp expenditures must be done with VST approval. There is no 'auto-buy' in this venue.
